    What is vitamin C?

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin, also known as ascorbic acid.

While water-soluble vitamins are known to have few side effects, they are more easily excreted from the body than fat-soluble vitamins because they are more soluble in water. Therefore, vitamin C must be consumed through food.

So What foods contain high amounts of vitamin C?

Foods that contain high amounts of vitamin C include fresh vegetables and fruits such as oranges, citrus fruits, lemons, tomatoes, peppers, kiwi, bell peppers, broccoli, cabbage, spinach, etc.

    Vitamin C Benefits

✅ Strong antioxidant effect: It has a strong antioxidant function to prevent skin aging and can be used to treat excessive pigmentation.

✅ Vitamin C helps synthesize collagen, which helps maintain skin, bones, and muscles.

✅ Vitamin C plays an important role in immune function, including antibacterial activity, lymphocyte proliferation, and white blood cell protection.

✅ Prevents stomach cancer: Vitamin C deficiency has been linked to various types of gastritis. By reducing inflammation caused by Helicobacter pylori, vitamin C reduces damage to the stomach mucosa and protects the stomach tissue, reducing the risk of stomach cancer.

✅ Vitamin C has been shown in antiviral studies to help reduce complications or the duration of the disease rather than stop the disease itself.

✅ Vitamin C may help prevent high blood pressure and heart disease.

✅ Vitamin C may help strengthen memory.

Recommended Daily Allowance for Vitamin C

The recommended daily allowance (RDA) for vitamin C is 100 mg. The RDA is the minimum amount needed to avoid deficiency.

Since the amount of vitamin C in your diet is not enough to provide antiviral benefits, we recommend supplementing with vitamin C through supplements or injections.

    Vitamin C Megadose Therapy

Vitamin C megadoses have been trending for a few years now.

Vitamin C megadosing is a method of taking high doses of vitamin C. Clinical studies are looking at the effects of doses ranging from 1 gram to 10 grams, or 10 to 100 times the recommended daily allowance.

A vitamin C supplement contains 1,000 milligrams (=1 gram) per tablet. Megadose therapy, which starts with 1 to 2 grams per meal and gradually increases, is said to relieve fatigue, prevent colds, and prevent skin aging.

However, ✔There may be side effects. These are mainly gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, stomach cramps, and abdominal pain, and kidney stones can occur, so you need to drink plenty of water.

There are now neutralized vitamin C formulations that are less acidic to compensate for GI symptoms, so be sure to check when purchasing your vitamin C supplement.
